Australian Veterinary Antimicrobial Stewardship Conference

The Australian Veterinary Antimicrobial Stewardship Conference Organising Committee is pleased to announce the 1st Australian Veterinary Antimicrobial Stewardship Conference (AVAMS18) will be held at the Novotel Twin Waters, Sunshine Coast QLD from 11th to 13th November 2018.

The Office of the Australian Chief Veterinary Officer, Australian livestock industries and other animal health stakeholders are planning an inaugural Australian Veterinary Antimicrobial Stewardship (AVAMS) conference in November 2018.

This foundation conference will provide Australian veterinary stakeholders the opportunity to contribute to, and learn about, the growing number of veterinary AMS initiatives underway in Australia. It will identify opportunities to collaborate to strengthen these initiatives and address barriers that might impede progress to further refinement of these AMS efforts.

The AVAMS conference will provide a unique opportunity to bring together stakeholders from national and international veterinarians, researchers, governments, industry, producers and universities.

Abstract submissions for AVAMS is now open. Submissions will close on the 4th June 2018.  Abstracts must address the following to be considered:

  • Veterinary AMS initiatives
  • Barriers to the progress of AMS
  • Potential solutions to these barriers
