One of Poultry Hub's main objectives is to provide a collaborative online environment for people involved or interested in poultry production and research.

Like other wikis, Poultry Hub can be edited by almost anyone. In Poultry Hub’s case, any registered user.

[edit] Poultry Research and Teaching Unit (PRATU) Workgroup

The Poultry Research and Teaching Unit (PRATU) is a cross-departmental group of UNE staff with a common interest in avian biology, poultry production, disease, behaviour and product marketing. The Workgroup is coordinating the transfer of the PRATU website to Poultry Hub from the UNE web domain. Visit the project page to find out more.

This project is Poultry Hub itself and aims to facilitate a coordinated, collaborative approach to the maintenance of Poultry Hub. Collaborators can see what needs to be done, discuss content-related issues with each other and suggest improvements. Visit the project page to find out more.

If you're passionate about poultry and want to contribute beyond the pages of Poultry Hub, you can help with the upkeep of poultry-related content on other wikis such as Wikipedia and Citizendium, both of which run on the same software, MediaWiki, as Poultry Hub. Collaborators can choose from the list of web pages flagged for attention by others or suggest pages themselves. Visit the project page to find out more.

[edit] Starting a collaborative project

Collaborative projects can be created or worked on at anytime. Collaborative projects usually address a perceived deficiency in a specific area related to poultry or poultry production in Australia, including research activities or education and training opportunities.

If you can see the potential in a coordinated, collaborative approach to a particular goal and are sure there isn’t already a project that services the same needs, use the “edit” link at the top of the page and follow the basic format of existing project entries.
