The Cal Poly Poultry Unit was built in 1995 and is considered one of the best in the Western United States. The newly designed unit has the capacity to accommodate 14,000 egg producing chickens, 7,000 replacement pullets, 7,000 broilers, and 2,500 chickens for testing and research purposes.
