The Scottish Agricultural College is an innovative, knowledge-based organisation supporting the development of land-based communities and industries. The Avian Science Research Centre (ASRC) specialises in contract research for government and private sectors and provides the focus for SAC's avian-related research, technology transfer and education. Focusing on nutrition, health and welfare we also provide a consultancy service in avian veterinary and environmental audits (including impact assessments).

Poultry related courses

Undergraduate courses

• Bachelor of Science/Agriculture (Hons) includes courses such as: Livestock Production Technology, Research Skills and Data Analysis and Animal Welfare and Behaviour. Upon successful completion of the 3 year Bachelor students move on to a 1 year Honours program.

• HNC Poultry Productionis a one year full-time course dedicated to poultry studies, components include: Poultry Meat Production Systems, Poultry Egg Production Systems, Poultry Health, Poultry Welfare and Behaviour and more.

• HND Agriculture is a 2 years full-time course dealing with agricultural issues such as: Livestock Management Systems, Livestock Nutrition, Pasture Management, Agricultural Produce: Quality and Processing.
• SAC Diploma in Agriculture the Diploma in Agriculture provides a route into the Agriculture programme at SAC for those who leave school with Standard Grades or equivalent.

Postgraduate courses

• Master of Science/Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Animal Behaviour and Animal Welfare this course aims is to enhance knowledge and understanding of the scientific study of animal behaviour and animal welfare that can be applied effectively in science and practice.
• Master of Science/Postgraduate Diploma Organic Farmingin association with its partner universities, SAC offers the following taught courses, leading to the award of Masters Degrees and Postgraduate Diplomas.
