- Bachelor of Science (Agricultural Science). World populations and economies are rapidly increasing in their demand for food and fibre. At the same time, agricultural systems are being placed under pressure to meet environmental and social and economic goals.
- Bachelor of Science (Animal Science). Animal scientists enable farmers to supply the demand for food and fibre from animal sources in a sustainable way by applying scientific, economic and social knowledge.
- Bachelor of Science(Genetics and Breeding). This course is designed for anyone with a broad interest in genetics, especially those who would like to apply that interest to the fields of plant and animal breeding, or natural resource conservation.
Postgraduate courses
- Graduate Diploma in Science. The Graduate Diploma in Science (GradDipSc) is intended for people who hold a pass degree but who are ineligible for entry to honours at this University, or who wish to undertake further study for one or both of the following reasons: (1) they wish to proceed to master's candidature; and/or (2) they wish to obtain advanced qualification in a specific area of expertise.
- Master of Science (Coursework or Coursework and Dissertation). This course provides in-depth study in the chosen specialised programme and adds significantly to a relevant undergraduate degree. Students complete the degree by coursework or coursework and dissertation as stipulated in their chosen programme.
- Master of Science (Research). The Master of Science is a broad-based degree which allows students to pursue research topics in a range of disciplines from the sciences. The degree can be taken through many schools, so the variety of research topics is wide.
- Master of Science in Agriculture (Research). The Master of Science in Agriculture is a broad-based degree which allows students to pursue research topics in a range of disciplines from agriculture. The degree can be taken in many disciplines, so the variety of research topics is wide. Some suitable areas for research are field crops, plant production and animal husbandry.
