The National Innovation Review and its implications for the Poultry CRC

Welcome to another edition of eChook.

The Review of the National Innovation System, incorporating the CRC Programme, will deliver a Green Paper to Government by 31 July 2008. This Green Paper will then be released to the stakeholders for comments. The Government will develop its response in the form of a White Paper towards the end of 2008.

We do not know whether the Government will release the guidelines for the CRC Round 11 before it finalises the Review. Although we have heard that the Government is going to announce the successful CRCs from Round 11 by 30 June 2009.

It is expected that Round 11 CRCs will require a 2-stage bid process, with Stage I being a web-based submission and Stage II a full business case. It is expected that Stage I will be the most important hurdle as the Government is looking to reduce the unnecessary expenditure of CRCs preparing full applications.

The Poultry CRC is finalising the list of partners, and will put in a major effort to develop the research and education programs for the re-bid between July and October, 2008.

Mingan
