2026 PHA Programs

Program Details Status
Co-Investment Competitive Grants Scheme Poultry Hub Australia is inviting applications for its co-investment competitive grants scheme, supporting applied research in poultry nutrition and gut health. The scheme offers up to $60,000 per project, with applications reviewed by the PHA Industry Committee. Applicants must submit a draft Preliminary Research Proposal (PRP), reflecting PHA’s role as a potential co-funder and industry partner. Projects should focus on practical, industry-relevant outcomes. First round closes 22/05/2026
Undergraduate Industry Placements Industry-based placement opportunities for undergraduate students studying agriculture and related disciplines. Placements are generally conducted over several weeks and contribute towards work experience requirements while building industry engagement and practical skills. Successful applicants may be eligible for travel and accommodation scholarships valued at up to $500 per week (full-time equivalent), subject to availability and program arrangements.- EOI closes 12/06/2026
Postgraduate (HDR) Industry Internships Industry internships for postgraduate (HDR) students designed to strengthen technical skills, research capability, and industry connections. Internships generally run for 3–6 months with a minimum duration of 60 full-time equivalent days and may be undertaken on-site, online, or in a hybrid format with a single industry partner. Successful applicants may also be eligible for travel and accommodation scholarships valued at up to $500 per week (full-time equivalent), subject to availability and program arrangements. Researcher Training Scholarship Scholarships supporting Australian-based poultry researchers to undertake training that refined or developed skills relevant to poultry research and extension outcomes in Australia. Past Program
PHA Travel Scholarships Travel grants supporting domestic and international travel to attend and present at poultry-related conferences. Available to Australian-based researchers receiving funding through PHA, AgriFutures Chicken Meat, or Australian Eggs programs. Past Program
Workshops PHA facilitated a range of face-to-face and online workshops throughout the year for industry and researchers. Past Program
PoultryGrad A program for Australian-based poultry PhD, Master’s, and Honours students providing poultry industry field experiences and workshops. Closed – 2024
Undergraduate Placement Scholarships Scholarships supporting undergraduate students to engage directly with industry through placements on-farm or within poultry businesses. Past Program
Undergraduate Research Scholarships Scholarships supporting undergraduate students to work directly with university researchers and gain hands-on poultry research experience at Australian universities. Past Program
Honours Scholarships Scholarships for Honours students studying Agriculture, Animal Science, or Veterinary Science at an Australian university, with a poultry focus. Past Program
