For a bit of background about Poultry Hub, watch this short video.

Research activities associated with commercial poultry production in Australia are funded from a variety of sources, including the poultry industries. Organisations such as the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation (RIRDC) Chicken Meat Program, the Australian Egg Corporation Limited (AECL) and the Poultry CRC then allocate these funds into key research areas. Research is conducted at both state and federal agencies and university institutions.
Poultry Cooperative Research Centre (Poultry CRC)
The Poultry CRC has three integrated Research Programs addressing the major challenge of meeting increasing demand for ‘clean and green’ poultry products and maintaining food security in the face of climate change and population growth.

The Australian Egg Corporation Limited (AECL) makes investments in research and development on behalf of the Australian egg industry and the community as a whole. Many basic research projects are supported indirectly through the Poultry CRC. Approximately one in every four dollars spent by AECL on research is administered under the stewardship of the Poultry CRC. AECL’s R&D Program is listed on the Australian Competitive Grants Register (ACGR) under Commonwealth Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry schemes.
Through focused R&D, the RIRDC Chicken Meat Program supports increased sustainability and profitability in the chicken meat industry. The program is funded by statutory levies paid by industry participants. This levy revenue is matched by RIRDC at up to 0.5 per cent of gross value of production (GVP). RIRDC is an essential participant in the second term Poultry CRC and will both invest in the CRC’s R&D activities and jointly invest in R&D with the CRC. The Chicken Meat Program will also collaborate with other rural R&D corporations.
Poultry-related research is conducted all over the world, with much of it involving collaboration between research institutions and industry partners from more than one country.
