Data Visualisation Workshop

Data Visualisation Workshop

PoultryHub Australia, Australian Eggs and AgriFutures Australia are developing innovative ways to facilitate the communication between researchers and the poultry industry.

These three organisations are coordinating a number of opportunities to aid researcher/industry engagement including a meeting space, The Chook Chat Shack at PIX 2018 and a Data Visualisation Workshop.

The Data Visualisation Workshop will take place on Thursday, 8 February 2018 at Doltone House in Sydney, NSW and will cost $200.00 for a full day workshop, there are limited places available.

The Data Visualisation Workshop is the day after APSS, why not stay in Sydney one extra day and learn more from international guest speaker Martin Krzywinski, Staff Scientist at Canada’s Michael Smith Genome Sciences Centre.   The information graphics of Martin Krzywinski have set a new standard for the presentation of information, data and scientific results.   The Data Visualisation Workshop will focus on practical examples of poultry research undertaken in Australia. The workshop will include developing fundamentals, redesigning submissions, common communication issues and practices that can be improved.  To enjoy full participation in the workshop we request that you provide at least one example of how you typically present research data or concepts (e.g. tables, figures, publications, PowerPoint etc.) for consideration as a practical example to be used as part of the workshop.

We look forward to your involvement in this upcoming initiative. For more details regarding registration and payment details for the workshop contact poultryhub@une.edu.au before the 1st December 2017, with the subject header of “Data Visualisation Workshop” or click here to register.
